Raw · Unpasteurised · Certified Organic
Honey with an address.
Pure raw honey from bees who live on our farm at Dowra, between the foothills of Sliabh an Iarainn and the shores of Lough Allen.

100% raw
Never pasteurised, never blended. Honey the way the bees left it.
Certified organic
A 124-acre certified organic farm. No sprays on the ground our bees work.
One farm
Eleven hives on one hillside. Every jar comes from the same ground.
By the season
We harvest when the bees are ready. When a batch is gone, it is gone until next year.

Rough hill ground at the top of the farm, where the flock graze.

The meadows our bees work
Our bees work the farm: the buttercups, the clover and the hedgerows across 124 certified organic acres, with no sprays on the ground we farm.
That is the whole idea behind raw honey. We take it from the hive, let it settle, and jar it. We never heat it and we never blend it, so what you taste is this farm, this season, and nothing else.
The back of the jar
Honey with an address
Supermarket honey can be blended from a list of countries. Ours names one townland. That is the whole point.

One family, one hillside
We are Carol and Gavin Durkin, and this is our farm at Derrinwillan, between the Iron Mountain and the shores of Lough Allen. Alongside the bees we keep suckler cows, sheep, a few free-range pigs and hens, and a goat called Hazel.
We farm with the land rather than against it, working with National Parks and Wildlife to keep it rich for nature. The honey is a small part of that, made in small amounts and shared with people who care where their food comes from.
Where to find a jar
A handful of good places around the lake carry it, or message us for a jar straight from the farm.
